Rolex valuation

How much is my Rolex worth?

Your Rolex is worth what the pre-owned market pays today for that exact reference, in its condition, with or without its box and papers. A specialist reviews your details and photos and returns a market-based figure — usually the same day — to sell, trade or consign. This is a dealer market valuation, not a formal appraisal for insurance or tax.

What sets a Rolex's value

  • Reference. The six-digit reference and suffix define the market the watch trades in.
  • Condition. Original case lines, crystal, bezel and bracelet stretch are all assessed.
  • Box and papers. A complete set with the warranty card typically adds value.
  • Service history. Documented servicing reduces the next buyer's risk.
  • Completeness. Original links, clasp and parts are costed in when missing.
  • Current demand. We value against what the reference trades for now, not last year's peak.

For current trading ranges across core references, see the Rolex price guide and our valuation guide.

Value by model

Rolex Submariner value

Date and no-date, steel and precious metal, and bezel colour define distinct markets — the black-bezel 126610LN and green-bezel 126610LV are mechanically identical yet trade differently.

Rolex Datejust value

The broadest Rolex family: size (31, 36, 41mm), metal, bezel, dial and Oyster versus Jubilee bracelet all move the value. Some dials, such as the palm motif, carry their own premium.

Rolex Daytona value

Metal, dial and bezel material separate Daytona references sharply. Condition and a complete set matter more here than on most models because buyers are exacting.

Rolex GMT-Master II value

Bezel colourway and bracelet (Oyster or Jubilee) define the market for each GMT-Master II. Two-colour Cerachrom bezels are central to demand.

Rolex Sky-Dweller value

An annual calendar and dual time zone make this a complex watch; metal, dial and bracelet determine where it trades.

Rolex Yacht-Master value

Steel-and-platinum, Everose and titanium versions sit in quite different markets, and strap or bracelet affects value.

Rolex valuation questions

How much is my Rolex worth?

A Rolex is worth what the pre-owned market pays for that exact reference in its condition and completeness today. Reference, condition, box and papers, service history and current demand set the figure. Send the details and photos for a specialist valuation, usually returned the same day.

How much is a Rolex Datejust worth?

Datejust values vary widely by size, metal, bezel, dial and bracelet — a steel 36mm with a smooth bezel and a two-tone 41mm with a fluted bezel trade in different ranges. The reference number is the fastest way to a precise figure.

How much is a Rolex Daytona worth?

Daytona value depends on the reference, the metal and dial, and on condition and completeness. Steel models have typically traded above retail on the pre-owned market, but prices move, so we value against current trading rather than historic highs.

Is this a formal appraisal for insurance or tax?

No. Our valuation is a market-based specialist figure for selling, trading or consigning the watch. It is not a formal appraisal for insurance, probate or tax purposes.

Does box and papers change my Rolex's value?

Yes. A complete set with the warranty card typically commands more than a watch-only example, because it adds provenance for the next buyer. Watches without papers can still be valued and sold after authentication.
